Arlo’s Bio Home My Name is Arlo Kilmer and I live in Decatur, Ga, a suburb of Atlanta. I am a farm boy originally from the prairies of Minnesota, Lake Wobegon country of Prairie Home Companion fame. I was in a class of two (highest in my class, also second from the bottom), eight in the entire school. I went to high school in the big city, New Ulm, Minnesota and did my under-graduate and graduate work at Minnesota State University at Mankato, Minnesota and post-graduate work at the University of Denver. I have hobbies in both wood working and metal working. Have a look at some of my shop tools and projects. I was an administrator for 12 years at Cherry Creek Schools, Denver, Colorado (The best place I have lived), 14 years at Austin Public Schools, Austin, Minnesota, and 2 years as an Assistant Superintendent at Cobb County Schools, Marietta, Georgia. I have also lived in Maryland and Alaska(1964) when it was still a wild frontier. Pam and I recently took a cruise from Seattle to Alaska. I retired in January of 2004 and started an IT consulting company, Arlo's Gallery, LLC, and did IT consulting for the State of Georgia. I am presently retired(2009) and do volunteer work for the Atlanta Community Tool Bank., I love the West and the Rockies (Bucksnort Bar at Pine, Co).  Ouray Colorado is one of my favorite mountain towns. I drove a Colorado Cadillac that had over 360k before it reached the end of it's life cycle. My wife Pam keeps busy with work and singing with The Dekalb Choral Giuld. The Choral Giuld toured Italy this fall(2008) and had a good time, I have three children, Karlene (Albuquerque, New Mexico), Kory (Colorado Springs, Colorado) and Kent (Minneapolis, Minnesota). The newest member of the family is Tyler Ryan Kilmer (And Charlie), Born 9/13/2004, to Kory and Caiona Kilmer, the first GrandChild. Being a Grandpa is great. Tyler will be six in September. We did a cruise to the Western Caribbean in the spring of 2010 with Garrison Keillor host of NPR's Praire Home Companion. We started at Tampa and stopped at Key West, Belize City, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. I developed and managed the Georgia Procurement Registry until I retired. Have a look at The Georgia Procurement Registry. We had a large 60-70 ft tall Red Oak tree fall on the house in the summer of 2007. They had to use a 60 ton crane to lift it over the top of the house. They could not pay me enough for some jobs. Two of man's best friends rule the house. house pic#2. They are PJ (The Devil Dog) and Aki (Mohegan for "Earth"). Aki died in January of 2010. She could never be replaced but we did get a new buddy for PJ.
